Amwell Nature ReserveFormer gravel pits which have been restored to a diverse wetland nature reserve which is now internationally important to nature conservation on account of the numbers of wintering water birds which visit the reserve.
Balls WoodA sizeable and varied woodland, where plantations of conifers contrast with old coppiced hornbeams.
King's MeadsKing's Meads, between Hertford and Ware, was previously referred to as The Meads.
Rye MeadsA large, ancient flood meadow which attracts vast numbers of a wide variety of birds and supports many other forms of wildlife. It is jointly managed by the Trust and the RSPB. whose site includes marshes and lagoons adjacent to the River Lea.
Stockers LakeA large water-filled gravel pit with islands. The lake attracts an astonishing number of waterbirds.
