| “The future is much too important to be left to chance… … that is why making a Will is one of the most important jobs that any of us has to do.” Sir David Attenborough, Vice-President of The Wildlife Trusts |

Making a Will is the only way to be sure that your wishes are carried out, and the most important things in your life – your family, friends and cherished possessions – are cared for.
You may also wish to ensure that future generations can enjoy the richness and beauty of our natural heritage. The Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust works to protect the wildlife for the future – a gift from you could help us continue our work.
Ensuring that our children and grandchildren can grow up in this beautiful world and enjoy the wonders of nature is one of the best legacies we can leave
Across Hertfordshire and Middlesex, we are blessed with a wonderful variety of wildlife. From large wetland sites – home to water voles, otters, damsel and dragonflies – to the last remaining patches of heathland in the county – diverse in grasses, summer herbs and wild flowers.
Thanks to the continued support of our members and those kind enough to donate or leave a legacy to Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust, many of these wonderful places still remain locally today.

Regardless of size, legacies form an important part of our charitable income and help provide valuable support to our conservation work
Legacies allow us to plan for the future, and have already helped Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust provide protection for endangered species, as well as buy and manage nature reserves across the two counties. We also advise individuals, businesses and local communities on wider countryside issues, and are at the forefront of delivering long-term nature conservation strategies, safeguarding wildlife and habitats, and ultimately ensuring people have continued access to their local wildlife for years to come.
Making or updating a Will is simple!
If you already have a Will, a legacy gift to Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust can be incorporated by contacting your Solicitor and completing a Will Codicil Form.
If you need to make a Will, please contact your Solicitor to discuss all aspects of your Bequest. This will ensure that your Will is legally correct and that all your wishes are carried out.
You might find it useful to look at our Helpful Information Form before you visit your Solicitor or chosen Will writer. Also, you may wish to visit the 'Remember A Charity' website which has lots of useful information.

However big or small, a gift in your Will to Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust will make a difference to our conservation work
Legacy gifts to charity are generally exempt from Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Income Tax, so the full value of your gift will go straight to wildlife conservation.
