Nominate a Great Volunteer!

We'd love to hear who YOU feel has been making a difference to wildlife- through their practical work on our reserves, raising the Trust's profile, generating money for our work or simply inspiring people to get out and enjoy the wildlife around them!

Nominate a Star VolunteerA volunteer who is willing to give their time freely is one of the greatest assets we have. Every year thousands of volunteers choose to help raise the funds that keep our wildlife and wild places better protected. They help us extend our work on protecting local places of natural value and bring valuable experience of life to the charity.

We recognise the outstanding contributions formally through our Volunteer Appreciation Awards given each year.

Making a Nomination

Anyone who has volunteered for Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust is eligible to be nominated for an Award.

Nominations are welcome from members, other volunteers, Trustees and employees. To nominate someone simply download and complete the Volunteer Nomination Form and return it to us by 30 June 2010.

Judging Process

The system for selecting nominations will ensure that the awards are fair. The ultimate decision is made by the Board of Trustees at their Council in July each year. The judging panel comprises the Chairman, Chief Executive and three Trustees.

The nominee is expected to have made an exceptional contribution to the work of the Trust over a considerably long period of time, whether:

  • through work in reserves conservation, fund raising, administration or raising the Trust’s profile in the two counties
  • through a major and notable contribution to the Trust’s development in a specific area over a more limited period
  • through a diversity and breadth of impact on the Trust.

When completing your nomination form, please try and demonstrate one or more of the above. Feel free to supply additional information to support your nomination.

Successful nominees will be informed as soon after selections have been made as possible.
