Design a Wildlife Welly - Competition Winners 2010

Colourful and imaginative, all the entries to the competition were good... but two were welly-good!

We were very impressed with all the designs we received, they were all so lovely. We really hope they all enjoyed making them as much as we enjoyed looking at them all. Once all the wonderful welly designs had been sent into us, they were judged by each member of HMWT staff and two winners were chosen.

Our 2010 winners were...

We loved Grace's design, it was very colourful and makes a great pattern. We all wish our wellies looked as lovely and bright as these.

16th Hitchin Cub Pack

We thought these wellies were very cleverly made, using lots of natural materials like leaves, bark and seed pods - it made us all want to get our wellies on and go for a wildlife walk!

As winners of the competition, Grace and Alex have each won an exclusive Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust Badger Watching Evening for them and their family, with special guest, and badger expert, Michael Clark.

We would like to say a big thank you to our winners and everyone else who took part in our Wear your Wellies for Wildlife campaign. It really is wonderful to hear that so many children are interested in local wildlife, as without all your support we could not carry on our work protecting them and the places where they live.

With special thanks to Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust (GWT) for the use of the 'Wear your Wellies for Wildlife' logo and materials.
