Big Wild Weekend - 30 Days Wild/Gordon Beningfield

As part of 30 Days Wild and the Gordon Beningfield celebration the Trust is holding a Big Wild Weekend along the River Gade water meadows at Great Gaddesden.

Come along for free activites!
The weekend will include wildlife activities and family fun.
- Flower Festival celebrating Beningfield’s English Countryside at St John the Baptist Church. The church will be open to the public 10.30-4.30 on Saturday and 11.45-4.30pm on Sunday (Please note there will be a church service at 10.30am on Sunday morning.)
- Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust 30 Days Wild– activities and family fun exploring the wildlife of the River Gade water meadows. Learn to sketch wildlife with artist Martin Gibbons.
- Guided walks by the Water End & Upper Gade Valley Conservation Society – a walk will leave from the churchyard each day at 2pm. Sign-up on the day in the gazebo in the churchyard; walks will be 1-1.5 hours, highlighting the local wildlife and landscape much loved by Gordon Beningfield; each walk will end up back at the church where cream teas are being served.
- Redbourn Museum and Pitstone Rural Life Museum will be taking part doing small displays on rural life.
