Veteran Trees and Fungi
About the event
Together with the River Mimram, Panshanger Park's celebrated veteran trees form one of the the most important and precious ecological aspects of this historical landscape, providing homes to hundreds of other species. Join us on this guided walk to discover the park's ancient and veteran trees. Learn how to identify the fungi found on veteran trees and the amazing ways they interact with their hosts, and why the trees have grown to be so majestic and wonderful!
Parking will be available close by at the Panshanger House site.
Maximum capacity for this walk is 6 excluding the walk leader.
Suggested donationThis event is free to attend. However, as a registered charity, any donations are greatly appreciated. We suggest a donation of £3 per person for members and £5 for non-members to cover our administration costs.

Panshanger Park is owned and managed by Tarmac who are working in partnership with Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust (HMWT) to open up the historic landscape to the public. The partnership is working in consultation with a range of stakeholders to highlight and protect the many wonderful attributes of the park - from the varied wildlife to the rich history of the grounds and the stunning landscape.
