Wildlife advice and rescue

Hedgehog (c) Tom Marshall

We do not have facilities to care for injured animals – please find guidance below.

Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust is a local conservation charity. We look after the habitats of wild animals by managing nature reserves.

If you have found an injured animal please contact the most relevant contact below. If in doubt, a local vet may also be able to offer practical on-the-spot advice.

Reporting wildlife sightings

If you spot a species (plant, insect, mammal, fish) please consider reporting it to Herts Environmental Records (below). The records held are so valuable in helping inform The Trust’s conservation around the county.

Herts Environmental Records Centre (HERC) – manages information on habitats, species and sites across the county. Records can be submitted directly to enquiries@hercinfo.org.uk or online at Herts Natural History Society and iRecord. www.hercinfo.org.uk
