Six-week Forest School programme available to schools!
The Panshanger Park Forest School is a Tarmac initiative delivered in partnership with Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust.
Located at Panshanger Park, near Hertford, The Forest School opened in February 2015 and offers six-week outdoor learning programmes designed to build up children’s skills and confidence of working and playing in the natural environment.
At Forest School children take part in activities that encourage creativity and exploration. From den building to minibeast hunts, fire lighting to natural art, all of our activities are designed to be fun and interesting, and importantly something they would probably never otherwise experience.
Because Forest School programmes run over a minimum of six sessions the lessons are designed to offer a sequence of learning during which children will build up their skills and confidence of working and playing in the natural environment.
Forest School activities are designed to challenge children - but also to be achievable so that children are able to stretch their skills and build their confidence. Whilst each session has a lesson plan, with learning objectives set, child-initiated learning is always encouraged to allow children the freedom to explore.
If you are interested in this fantastic opportunity for your school please contact the Panshanger Park Forest School Officer Becky Shenton by email or call 01992 512702.
