About the event

Have you ever noticed strange or unusual growths on trees and wondered what they are?

Join tree gall enthusiast and volunteer warden Andy for a fascinating guided walk through the beautiful Astonbury Wood and discover the intriguing and often overlooked world of tree galls.

A tree galls is a growth on a plant that is made of plant tissue, but caused by another organism, normally an insect.

As we explore the woodland together, Andy will help you spot and identify a variety of galls in their natural setting, revealing the ecology behind these curious formations. Perfect for nature lovers, curious minds, and anyone keen to see the woodland from a whole new perspective.

This walk will cover uneven, possibly muddy ground. This walk is aimed at adults but older children are welcome.
