Working for Wildlife Days

A great opportunity for your next business away day! Your staff will experience hands on what it means to protect local wildlife, whilst team building and learning new skills in an inspiring setting.

Taking part in a Working For Wildlife Day with Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust is a fantastic way to do your bit for local wildlife and give something back to the community.

The activity can be part of an ongoing partnership with the Trust, or as a one-off event.

What's included

Our work parties give you and your staff the opportunity to achieve practical, visible conservation work providing a confidence boost and a fun, effective way to team build.

They take place on our nature reserves across Hertfordshire and Middlesex, and provide:

  • exclusive events for teams of all skills and abilities (between 5 and 15 people, sometimes more depending on the reserve and activity)

  • team building and staff development opportunities

  • equipment and PPE included

  • full training, health & safety provisions, and on-site briefing (including risk assessments and supervision for the day’s task) by our expert Reserve Officers

  • opportunities for guided walks

  • tea and biscuits on the day!

Our working for wildlife days are available throughout the autumn and winter months (late September to early March), after the wildlife breeding and plant growth season has come to an end. There may also be some estate management work available at other times in the year subject to activity, location and group size. We will always try our best to accommodate your request if a suitable project is available.

Prior experience is not necessary and staff can enjoy a valuable day in an outdoor setting learning new skills and working with colleagues. You will make a practical difference to wildlife in just one day.

Costs for these events are from £40 per head (plus VAT) for our corporate members, and £50 per head (plus VAT) for non-members, for a full day. Full details can be found in the downloadable factsheet below.
