About the event

A guided wildlife walk round Stocker's Lake Nature Reserve, focusing on the River Colne. We will learn about all sorts of wildlife, including Kingfishers, Mayflies and Water Voles. This walk will be about 1.5miles.

Under 18s must be accompanied by a adult at all times.

Please dress appropriately for the weather! There may be uneven muddy/wet ground, This event is weather dependent and may need to be cancelled at short notice.

Affinity Water have funded this event and all management work for wildlife at Stocker's Lake.

This event is part of the very first Herts Rivers Week - a celebration of our globally rare and beautiful chalk rivers. Through a series of walks, talks, and family-friendly events, you can learn about the wildlife chalk rivers support, the challenges they face, and simple ways you can help to protect them. Stocker’s Lake, Springwell Reedbed and Hilfield Park Reservoir are owned by Affinity Water and managed by the Trust. Affinity Water are working in partnership with the Trust to conserve and enhance their sites for wildlife and so that they are valued, used and enjoyed by their respective local communities.
