Chalk Stream Explorer
About the event
What makes a chalk stream and how do we know what condition it is in?
Explore the creatures living in the riverbed, use our ID charts to identify them by counting their legs, tails and gills, can you spot a predator? This is an outdoor event so come dressed for the weather
All children must be accompanied by a responsible parent/guardian, with at least one adult per two children.
This event is part of the very first Herts Rivers Week - a celebration of our globally rare and beautiful chalk rivers. Through a series of walks, talks, and family-friendly events, you can learn about the wildlife chalk rivers support, the challenges they face, and simple ways you can help to protect them.
