About the event

Winter is a fascinating time to visit the reserve, with a wonderful variety of wildfowl gathering on the lake, alongside wading birds, gulls and other wetland species. With the help of our Reserves Officer, we'll explore the reserve's viewpoints and bird hides, using binoculars and a telescope to observe the birds and discover more about their behaviour and habitats. Throughout the walk, you will learn tips and advice to help you identify different bird species, particularly wildfowl and discover more about the ecology and habits of our winter visitors.

Whether you're new to birdwatching or already enjoy spotting wildlife, this is a great opportunity to develop your identification skills, learn more about our winter visitors and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the reserve.

Suitable for adults and children 12 years and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The walk is weather dependent and may need to be cancelled at short notice if conditions are unsuitable.

Accessibility:

Please consider the distance and walking conditions when deciding whether the event is suitable for you.
