Grebe House Wildlife Garden, Josh Kubale
Workshop: Introduction To Wildlife Gardening
About the event
Have you ever wondered how to make your garden or outdoor space more welcoming for wildlife, but not sure where to begin? This beginner focused workshop is a great place to start.
In this introductory session, we’ll explore simple, practical ways to support wildlife. You’ll learn about the basic principles of wildlife gardening, discover features you can add to your space, and find out which animals and insects you might attract. We’ll also share ideas you can try at home, whatever space you have. Whether you have a garden, balcony, windowsill, allotment, or help care for a community green space, there are lots of ways to create a welcoming environment for wildlife.
The session will begin indoors with a presentation and some relaxed, interactive activities. We’ll then head outside for a walk around our wildlife garden, where you can see these ideas in action and gather inspiration for your own space.
This event is primarily aimed at adults (18+), and no prior knowledge is needed. Young people aged 12+ are welcome if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Accessibility: Please be aware the indoor part of this workshop will be upstairs. Our Grebe House office does have a stair lift, however please be aware that the garden is not wheelchair accessible and the paths around the garden are unpaved and may be narrow in places. Unfortunately we do no have an accessible bathroom available at Grebe House. If you have any questions about mobility and access needs, please let us know before hand at events@hmwt.org and we will be happy to help.
