Wilstone Winter Wildfowl Walk
Tring Reservoirs,
3km north west of Tring, Tring, Hertfordshire , HP23 4PA
About the event
Join our Reserves Officer and Site Warden for a relaxed guided walk around the reservoir path to the birdwatching hide.
This is a wonderful time of year at the reservoir for birdwatching, as migrating birds pass through and others arrive to spend the winter on the reserve. We’ll take our time looking out for the birds we encounter along the way, with tips on how to identify different species and spot their distinctive features. You’ll also discover a little more about how we manage the site to support wildlife and encourage biodiversity.
Whether you’re a keen birdwatcher or simply curious about the wildlife around you, come along and enjoy a closer look at the birds that call the reserve home.
The walk is suitable for adults, children aged 6 and over, and well behaved dogs on leads.
Bring your binoculars, wrap up warm (the reservoir can be quite exposed and windy), and pack some water and a snack to keep you going.
Please be aware there are steep steps from the car park up to the reservoir path. The path along the top is mostly flat, although the final section to the bird hide may be muddy or uneven. Please note that there are no toilet facilities on site.
The walk is weather dependent and may need to be cancelled at short notice if conditions are unsuitable.
