The Challenge

In Summer 2022 we launched a new challenge to celebrate our amazing local wildlife and to raise funds for Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust.

From 29-30 June Ben Marston, Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust supporter and the co-founder of Puddingstone Distillery, visited 30 wild places on an eBike in just 30 hours. Through this challenge we wanted to demonstrate the breadth of incredible local wild places and how they can easily be accessed by sustainable transport.

He stopped at each wild place to take part in an activity or to meet with a local expert to find out how they are working with the Trust to benefit wildlife – from our staff, to volunteers, local businesses and community groups.

It is not too late to show your support by sponsoring Ben to raise vital funds to protect local wildlife. The Ride Wild raffle has now closed.

The Ride Wild raffle has now closed. The winners have been drawn and notified.

The Route

The challenge started at one of the Trust’s Nature Reserves, Stocker’s Lake in the Colne Valley, and finished in King’s Meads Nature Reserve in Ware 30 hours later. The map below gives an indication of the route.
