About the event
Did you know that Amwell Nature Reserve is home to an incredible 21 species of dragonflies and damselflies, and even boasts its very own Dragonfly Trail?
Join our knowledgeable Reserves Officers, Kathryn and Freya, for a guided walk through this beautiful wildlife haven. As you explore the reserve, you’ll be introduced to some of the species of dragonflies and damselflies that call this reserve home, learn how to identify common species and start to understand their remarkable life cycles.
Along the way, you’ll gain insight into the carefully managed habitats that help these stunning insects thrive and hear about the conservation work that makes Amwell such a special place for wildlife.
This relaxed and informative walk covers approximately 1 mile along a mixture of surfaced paths and grass, passing through kissing gates as we journey through the reserve.
Perfect for nature lovers, budding wildlife enthusiasts, and anyone curious to learn more about Amwell’s dragons.
Suitable for ages 10+. This walk is weather dependent, and if bad weather is forecast may need to be rescheduled.
